DIY String Lights with DeWalt Atomic Drill Kit

We love spending time in our backyard: playing with the kids and hosting neighborhood gatherings. Lately, I felt like it looked a bit boring though, so we decided to add some string lighting to spice it up.
We are not diy people, but the whole project turned out to be relatively easy largely thanks to our new DeWalt Atomic Drill Kit. DEWALT’s new Atomic is compact which was perfect since most of the work was done overhead and in pretty tight spaces. It is durable and lasts for an extended period of time, so we didn't have to stop for re-charging. I love the way it turned out!
Backyard String Lights Step-by-Step Installation process:
1. Draw a rough sketch and measure how many string lights and poles (if not using trees or structures) you'll be needing.
3. Use a drill to attach metal hooks to wooden posts (if using any) and other surfaces where you'll be hanging the lights from. We used DeWalt Atomic Drill Kit which saved us a lot of time and energy. It is cordless with 1500 RPM, 20V DC. Plus, the drill is compact and lasts a long time on a single charge.
2. If using wooden posts, make sure they are at least 12' long. Dig a hole in the ground at least 2' deep, insert the poles and use quick dry concrete to secure each pole in place.
3. We suggest using guy wire to help prolong the life of your string lights. It works to keep them more secure and prevent your lights from getting lower over time.
Attach the guy wire to each hook and tighten it as much as possible.
4. Hang your first string of lights with the male plug closest to the outlet.
5. Start attaching your lights to your guy wire - we used zip ties between each bulb to secure the lights. If using multiple strings of lights, plug them in with end to end connectors.
6. You are done! Time to plug in the lights and enjoyed your new backyard)
