How to Create Your Media Kit in 30 mins or less
Whether you are a blogger who is just starting out or an experienced influencer, having a professional Media Kit will help you get more collaboration opportunities. Brands want to see that you take your job seriously and will follow up with a project. Having a good Media Kit sets you apart from other bloggers in the same category.
What to include in your Media Kit?
1. A quick introduction. Explain who you are and where you are from. List the topics you focus on in your blog and describe some of your strengths.
2. Links to your blog and Social Media. Make sure to include your metrics, such as number of website monthly visitors, social media following, and engagement rates.
3. Accomplishments. Collaborations with well-know brands, features, and awards.
4. Photos. Make sure to include several pictures of yourself, family (if its a family blog), and projects you've worked on in the past.
5. Rates. Influencers go back and forth on this. Some prefer not to include their rates on the Media Kit. However, I believe it makes the whole collaboration process more transparent and clear. By including the rate, you will know right away if they brand has the right budget, wants to negotiate, or is simply looking for a product exchange.
6. Contact information. Email/phone number.
Where do you start?
I used Canva app to create my Media Kit. The app is free and has many templates. Simply search for 'Media Kit' in the search bar. Pick the template that you like, from there you can easy adjust colors, font, add/remove images. What I also love about Carva is that it saves your project in 'Your Designs' section to allow you to revisit it at a later time. That way you can easily edit your Media Kit at any point, such as when you need to update your stats or change rate.
Wishing you bets of luck with your Media Kit. HopeI was able to help and feel free to leave a comment or shoot me a DM on my Instagram @lanaato.
