Vintage Cactus Wallpaper playroom makeover with @rockymountaindecals

2020 has been a year where we’re not only had to rethink our lives, but start reconfiguring the house as well. With kids being at home a lot and no visitors on the horizon, we decided to scrap our guest room and turn it into a playroom instead.

I wanted it to look fun and airy and also serve as a space for some relaxation. Adding a wallpaper to the room has definitely made the biggest difference and allowed us to achieve the effect I’ve been aiming for.

We went with Vintage Cactus print by @rockymountaindecals:

It’s such a beautiful design and checks off all the boxes for me. Plus, since RockyMountainsDecals are peel and stick, the setup process was a breeze. Total project time: about 1 hour.

Now, you could technically put it up yourself but I do suggest you follow the instructions and have another helping pair of hands. The wallpaper comes pre-measured and the panels are numbered, so you know exactly where everything goes.

Start from the left, peel off the top 10 inches or so and line it up against the wall. Make sure to put about an inch over the ceiling (you’ll trim in later).

Use the free decal applicator to stick and smooth the wallpaper against the wall as you are slowly removing the backing and moving towards there floor.

Then, off the second panel. Line up the design and repeat). After you are done applying all the pieces, trim the edges and give yourself a pad on the back, or a glass of wine)

You did it!

Simple. Quick. Beautiful.
